How Can Affirmations Rewire Your Motivation?
The first one is actually quite simple and something you've heard before, which is affirmations. Whether it's taking sticky notes and putting, you can do it, or one day at a time all over your mirror someplace you can see it. Or having a box with cards that have positive affirmations, or even Proverbs inside of it, talking to yourself about, Hey, I can do this. I can do this. Having someone else tell you that cheerleading from the side, affirmations are great, and what they do is they begin to change your brain and your thinking because you're putting something positive into it.
How Can Dressing the Part Change How You Show Up?
This next one is actually kind of fun. Get the uniform and get the props. What does that mean? If you consider yourself to be, I'm starting to swim, then you should have goggles and you should have a swim cap. You should get one of those shammies that divers use when they come out of the water. You might say, well, I don't need one. Get one. It's part of the uniform. What kind of props do you need? If you like my 15-year-old grandson, consider yourself a filmmaker. Well, you need scenery, of course, you need the lights. You need all kinds of different things that will help you feel that I am taking on this role. It seems a little hokey, but get the uniform and get the props, and it will put you more in the head of that person who does that thing.

Get a coach. Many people contact me because they want to not only start something new, but they want to keep doing it. A coach is trained to help you along the way, and that also that person also becomes your accountability partner.
